Christmas is coming at Flourish Trading and it’s our favourite time of year!
We are enjoying the chance to get really creative with colour, décor and wrap. With all the sparkle coming into our showroom, we are busy stocking our shelves with faux holly, poinsettia, dried fruit, berries, robins and some really festive wreaths, garlands, berries, picks, sprays and candles, as well as seasonal ribbons and cellophanes ready for you and your customers to get a handle on the busiest time of year in retail.
So, as we prepare at Flourish Trading, it’s got us thinking how best to survive the festive season and come through without a feeling of chaos or overwhelm. As with all busy times of year, taking some time out early to plan properly has to be the best way forward.
Survival guide for Christmas
Get stocked up early. Take a good look around at what is available and plan ahead. If you are able to, evaluate your sales for last season and establish which product sold fast, what was most popular and if you had any remaining stock. What lessons can be learnt to make sure your purchasing works well for Christmas 2018?
Think about variety and how best to showcase what you have in store. Some simple visual merchandising tactics early on will really help you to display and showcase the product. Think creatively to draw the customer’s eye to key products either in your window or instore. Perhaps look at hanging products and using different boxes or containers to add height to a display.
Customer service can be embraced at this time of year more than ever. It’s the perfect excuse to invite some of your key clientele into store for a mulled wine or a mince pie. Perhaps plan a time to consider what you could do to encourage your customers to plan ahead early too.
Preparing your customers for the Christmas rush will not only ensure they are organised but also help you to survive Christmas. Organisation has got to be the key. At least that’s what we are telling ourselves this month at Flourish Trading as we stock the shelves in anticipation.
We look forward to welcoming you to the showroom soon. Come and see for yourself the range of items in stock for your Christmas cash & carry or festive season web shop order.
